the name Cetaterra comes from Cetus (whale/marine monster) and Terra (earth)

Earth, 50 million years in the future. The planet is undergoing a colossal tectonic reshaping as the continents drift toward the formation of Pangaea Proxima. Africa has collided with Europe, raising the towering Mediterranean Alps, while Australia has slammed into Southeast Asia, transforming entire coastlines and climates.

Among the dominant species are the Orcanids — evolved semi-aquatic descendants of orcas, with powerful legs ending in flipper-like feet, arms with dexterous hands, and dorsal fins transformed into muscular tails.

Led by the matriarch Klak, a pod of knowledge hunters travels across the ancient world, excavating long-buried ruins in search of the lost knowledge of the Ancients — a civilization and species that vanished 49 million years ago.
